Self-learning can get hard when you don't have the right resources. If you've just started learning Houdini from online tutorials, and do not have a direct mentor, these websites are your go-to option!

These websites will help you clear your doubts, share your work and get feedback, talk about your favorite movie shots, discuss job opportunities as a Houdini artist and so much more. The best thing about these websites especially for beginners is that it's an extremely easy and quick way to introduce yourself to the online Houdini community and be a part of intellectual discussions and learn from experienced artists.


You can even connect with Houdini artists working in famous studios and ask them about their journey and some tips for beginners and what not. Isn't that great ?!


So let's begin with the first website on the list



Sidefx website on the whole is a gold mine for Houdini users especially those who have started learning Houdini. The tutorials page of this website has a plethora of video lessons, both free and paid. The extremely useful interface lets you filter out the lessons by Categories, Industries, Levels( Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).

These video lessons cover a wide range of topics and are extremely helpful to kick start your Houdini learning journey.

If you're stuck somewhere while doing your shot, this is the best place to ask what to do next. You need to register if you aren't a member. Houdini Blueprints is a scene viewer in the browser. You can upload your file for others to view. The best place to share your ideas with Houdini online community.

If you want to upload your file for others to solve a problem Houdini blueprints is a fantastic way to do just that. Upload your file, copy the link and paste it on the forum where you've posted your query.

People can view your file through that link, check your nodes and parameters, and tell you what can be improved.
